The algorithm that keeps mining decentralized

RandomX is Monero's proof-of-work algorithm, purpose-built to run efficiently on general-purpose CPUs and inefficiently on ASICs. That design choice is deliberate: it prevents the kind of industrial hardware dominance that has concentrated mining power in other networks.

The result is a mining base spread across ordinary CPU hardware rather than a handful of specialized data centers, which is the foundation of Monero's network security.
